Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about tickets, entry, refunds and selling with us.
Buying tickets
Do I need an account to buy tickets?
No. You can check out as a guest with your name, email and mobile number, and your tickets are emailed to you. An account keeps all your orders in one place and fills in your details for you next time.
How do I pay?
Payments are handled by our payment partner, PayHere. You can pay with the cards and other methods they offer at checkout. We never see or store your card number or security code.
Are the prices final?
All prices are in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR). Any booking fee or tax is shown before you pay, and the total on the payment page is exactly what you are charged.
How long are my tickets held while I check out?
Your tickets are held for a few minutes while you enter your details and pay. A countdown on the checkout page shows how long you have. If it runs out, the tickets go back on sale and you can select them again.
Is there a limit on how many tickets I can buy?
Each event sets a maximum per order, and some ticket types have their own limit. The ticket selector won't let you go over it.
How do promo codes work?
Enter the code on the checkout page and the discount is applied straight away. Codes can be limited to certain events, ticket types, dates or a minimum spend, and the checkout tells you if a code doesn't apply.
My payment went through but I didn't get my tickets
We issue tickets only after the payment partner confirms your payment, which usually takes a few seconds but can take a minute. Check your spam folder, then look up your order on the My Tickets page. If there is still nothing after 15 minutes, contact us with your order reference.
Your tickets and entry
Where can I find my tickets?
They are in the confirmation email, and on the My Tickets page. If you checked out as a guest, enter the email you used and we'll email you the links to your orders.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. Show the QR code on your phone at the entrance. A printed copy works just as well.
How does one QR code work for a group?
Each order has a single QR code that covers everyone on it. Entrance staff scan it once and see how many people it admits, so it's easiest to arrive together. If some of your group come later, staff can admit part of the order and the rest can enter on the same code afterwards.
Can someone else use my ticket?
Anyone holding a copy of your QR code could use it before you, so don't post it online or share it with people outside your group. Once a ticket has been scanned it can't be used again.
Will I be asked for ID at the entrance?
Some events check ID or an age limit at the door. Any entry requirements are listed on the event page before you buy. If an event asks for your NIC at checkout, bring the same ID with you.
Can I change to a better ticket?
Often, yes. Open your order and choose Request an upgrade. The organizer reviews it, and if they approve, you get a link to pay only the difference. Your QR code stays the same.
Changes and refunds
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final. You can get a refund only if the event is cancelled, or if it is postponed and you can't make the new date. Tickets aren't refunded for change of mind, venue or time changes, lost tickets or refused entry. Our refund policy has the details.
What happens if an event is cancelled?
We email you and refund your order to the original payment method automatically. You don't need to ask. The refund covers the ticket face value; booking and service fees aren't refundable, and taxes and bank charges may be deducted.
What happens if an event is postponed?
Your tickets stay valid for the new date. If you can't attend, email us with your order reference within seven (7) bank working days of the postponement notice to ask for a refund. Requests after that aren't accepted.
How long does a refund take?
Once processed, refunds usually appear within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank. If you paid with an instalment plan, the refund goes back through the instalment provider to your card. We email you when it has been processed.
Can I get a refund for just some of the tickets in my order?
No. Partial cancellations aren't permitted, so an eligible refund cancels the whole order and every ticket on it.
Your account
Why do you ask for my mobile number and NIC?
Your mobile number lets us reach you about changes to your event. Your NIC lets us match tickets to you when an event checks ID at the entrance. Organizers and entrance staff never see your NIC in full. Our privacy policy explains how we look after your details.
I bought tickets as a guest. Can I add them to my account?
Yes. Create an account with the same email address and verify it. Your profile page then offers to add those guest orders to your account.
How do I reset my password?
Choose Forgot password on the login page and we'll email you a reset link.
For event organizers
How do I sell tickets on myshow.lk?
Tell us about your event on the Sell tickets page. Our team gets back to you, sets up your event page and ticket types, and gives you access to your organizer dashboard.
What do I see in the organizer dashboard?
Live sales, orders, tickets sold by type, check-ins, upgrade requests and refund requests for your events. You can approve upgrades, send customers a payment link for the balance, and ask us to refund an order.
