Terms and conditions

Last updated October 2026

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the myshow.lk website, the services offered through it, and every ticket purchase made on it (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By browsing the Service, creating an account or completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and our Refund Policy, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

If you breach these Terms, we may restrict or close your account, cancel your orders or tickets, refuse future purchases and take any other action available to us under the law.

2. About the Service and our role

  • myshow.lk is an online ticketing platform. We sell tickets as an agent on behalf of Organisers. Unless an event page states otherwise, we are not the Organiser of any Event.
  • When you buy a ticket, your contract to attend the Event is with the Organiser. Our contract with you covers the sale, payment, delivery and administration of your tickets through the Service.
  • Event information, including dates, times, line-ups, prices, age limits and conditions of entry, is provided by the Organiser. We take reasonable care to publish it accurately but cannot guarantee that it is complete or error-free.
  • All dates and times on the Service are shown in Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+05:30).

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account or buy tickets. Organisers may apply their own age limits to Events.
  • You may use the Service only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, in line with these Terms and the law.

4. Accounts and guest checkout

4.1 Creating an account

  • To create an account you must give your full name, a valid email address, a Sri Lankan mobile number, your National Identity Card (NIC) number and a password. The details you give must be true, current and your own.
  • You may hold only one customer account. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
  • We may ask you to verify your email address. Some features, such as adding earlier guest orders to your account, are available only after verification.

4.2 Guest checkout

  • You may buy tickets without an account by giving your name, email address and mobile number at checkout. Your tickets and a secure link to your order are sent to that email address.
  • Your order link gives access to your tickets. Treat it like the tickets themselves and do not share it.

4.3 Account security

  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. Use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere.
  • Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
  • Organiser, administrator and entrance-staff accounts are created only by us. Public registration creates customer accounts only.

5. Prices, fees and taxes

  • All prices are in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR).
  • Prices are set by the Organiser and may change at any time before you complete your purchase, including through time-limited or quantity-limited price tiers such as early-bird pricing. The price that applies is the one shown when your tickets are reserved at checkout.
  • Booking fees and applicable taxes are shown before you pay. The total shown on the payment page is the full amount you will be charged by us.
  • Your bank or card issuer may charge its own fees, for example for foreign currency or international transactions. These are outside our control and are not refundable by us.
  • If a ticket is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, we may cancel the affected order and refund the full amount paid, including fees, even after it has been confirmed.

6. Buying tickets

6.1 Reservation and checkout

  • When you select tickets and continue to checkout, they are held for you for a limited time, shown by a countdown on the checkout page. If you do not complete payment in that time, the tickets are released and may be bought by someone else.
  • Holding tickets does not guarantee a purchase. Ticket availability is confirmed only when your payment is verified.

6.2 Purchase limits

  • Organisers may set a maximum number of tickets per order, per Ticket Type or per customer. These limits are applied at checkout and may also be checked after purchase.
  • Orders that exceed these limits, including through multiple accounts, names, email addresses or payment cards, may be cancelled.

6.3 Your details

  • You must give accurate contact details at checkout. We are not responsible for tickets that cannot be delivered because an email address or mobile number was entered incorrectly.
  • Where an Event requires attendee names or an NIC number, the details given must belong to the person who will attend, and that person may be asked to show matching identification at the entrance.

6.4 Promo codes

  • Promo codes are issued at our or the Organiser's discretion and are subject to the conditions shown with them, which may include validity dates, eligible Events or Ticket Types, a minimum spend and usage limits.
  • Only one promo code can be used per order. Promo codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may be withdrawn at any time.
  • If an order that used a promo code is refunded, the discount is not refunded as cash, and the code may not be reusable.

7. Payment

  • Payments are processed by our Payment Partner. The payment methods available are those shown on the payment page. We never receive or store your full card number or security code.
  • An order is confirmed, and tickets are issued, only when our Payment Partner confirms that your payment has succeeded. A redirect back to our site, a payment receipt from your bank or a pending charge on your statement is not by itself a confirmation.
  • If your payment fails or is declined, no tickets are issued. While your tickets are still held, you may try again.
  • If a payment is confirmed after the tickets you selected have sold out, for example because the payment arrived after your hold expired, no tickets will be issued and the full amount will be refunded to you.
  • If you are charged more than once for the same order, the duplicate payment will be identified and refunded.
  • If a payment does not match the order total, the order may be held for review before tickets are issued.

7.1 Chargebacks and payment disputes

  • If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can help.
  • If a chargeback or payment dispute is raised on an order, the tickets on that order may be suspended or cancelled while the dispute is investigated, and we may restrict the account that placed it. If a dispute is found to be unjustified, we may recover the amount owed.

8. Order confirmation and ticket delivery

  • Tickets are delivered electronically. When your payment is confirmed, we email your tickets and order details to the address you gave at checkout. Signed-in customers can also find them under My Tickets in their account.
  • If you checked out as a guest, you can ask for your order links to be emailed again from the My Tickets page.
  • If you have not received your tickets within 15 minutes of paying, check your spam or junk folder, then contact us with your order reference.
  • Unless an event page says otherwise, there is no physical ticket and no box-office collection. Your ticket is the QR code.

9. QR codes and entry to Events

9.1 How entry works

  • Each Order has one QR code that covers all the tickets on that Order. At the entrance, staff scan the code and see how many people it admits.
  • You can show the QR code on your phone or on a printed copy. Make sure your screen is bright and the code is clear.
  • Each ticket can be admitted only once. If part of your group arrives later, staff can admit some of the tickets on an Order and admit the rest when they arrive, using the same QR code.
  • Once a ticket has been admitted, it cannot be used again, including for re-entry, unless the Organiser allows re-entry.

9.2 Keeping your QR code safe

  • Anyone who holds a copy of your QR code may be admitted before you. Do not post it on social media or share it with anyone outside your group.
  • We and the Organiser are not responsible for tickets admitted because a QR code was copied, shared or lost, and cannot replace tickets that have already been scanned.
  • If you believe your QR code has been copied, contact us before the Event. We may be able to cancel and reissue it.

9.3 Conditions of entry

  • Entry is subject to the Organiser's and Venue's conditions of entry and rules, which may be shown on the event page and at the Venue. These may include ID checks, age limits, dress codes, bag searches and restrictions on prohibited items.
  • Where an Event checks identification, the ID shown must match the attendee name or NIC given at checkout.
  • The Organiser or Venue may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who does not meet the conditions of entry, behaves in an unsafe, unlawful or abusive way, or appears to be intoxicated. No refund is due in these cases.
  • Late arrival may mean you are admitted at a suitable break or not at all, at the Organiser's discretion.
  • Events may be filmed, photographed or recorded. By attending you accept that you may appear in such recordings.
  • Invalid, refunded, cancelled, duplicated, altered or counterfeit tickets will be refused.

10. Transfer and resale

  • You may let a friend or family member use tickets you have bought for them. You remain responsible for those tickets, and for making sure they meet the Event's conditions of entry.
  • Tickets may not be resold or offered for resale at more than their Face Value, used for commercial purposes, or used as prizes, in promotions or in hospitality packages without the Organiser's written permission.
  • Tickets bought or used in breach of this section, or bought from unauthorised sellers, may be cancelled without notice or refund, and the holder may be refused entry.

11. Ticket upgrades

  • You may request to upgrade a ticket to another Ticket Type from your order page, and an Organiser may offer you an upgrade. Upgrades are at the Organiser's discretion and depend on availability.
  • If an upgrade is approved, we send you a secure payment link for the balance. The new place is held for you until the time shown with the link. If you do not pay by then, the upgrade expires and the place is released.
  • An upgrade is confirmed only when the balance payment is confirmed by our Payment Partner. Your QR code stays the same.
  • If a balance payment arrives after the upgraded place is no longer available, the upgrade will not be applied and the balance will be refunded. Your original ticket remains valid.
  • The balance shown may be adjusted by the Organiser. An Organiser may also decline an upgrade request without giving a reason.

12. Refunds

  • Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, together with any refund terms shown on the event page, which apply where they differ.
  • All sales are final. Tickets are refunded only if the Event is cancelled, or if the Event is postponed and you request a refund within seven (7) bank working days of the postponement notice. No refunds or exchanges are given for any other reason, including change of mind, changes of venue, time or line-up, partial performances, lost tickets or refused entry.
  • Refunds cover the face value of the tickets after any promo discount. Booking fees, service charges and handling fees are non-refundable, and applicable government taxes and levies and bank or payment charges may be deducted.
  • Partial cancellations are not permitted. A refund cancels the whole Order and every ticket on it.
  • Tickets that have been admitted at the entrance cannot be refunded.
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method, or through the instalment provider for instalment plans, and usually appear within 5 to 10 working days.

13. Event changes, postponements and cancellations

  • Organisers may need to change an Event, for example its line-up, times, programme or Venue. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund.
  • If an Event is postponed or rescheduled, your tickets remain valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund within seven (7) bank working days of the postponement notice, as set out in the Refund Policy. Late requests will not be accepted.
  • If an Event is cancelled and not rescheduled, we will refund your Order to the original payment method automatically, under the Refund Policy, without you needing to request it. We are not responsible for other costs, such as travel or accommodation.
  • We will tell you about postponements, cancellations and significant changes by email or SMS using the details on your Order, and on the event page. Please check your email and the event page before travelling.

14. Tickets bought elsewhere

We are responsible only for tickets bought through myshow.lk. Tickets bought directly from an Organiser, at a box office, from another ticketing service or from any third-party seller are covered by that seller's terms. We cannot verify, replace, upgrade or refund them.

15. Communications

  • By placing an order you agree that we may contact you by email, SMS or phone about that order, including confirmations, ticket delivery, upgrades, refunds and changes to the Event. These service messages are not marketing.
  • We send news and offers about upcoming Events only if you opt in. You can stop these at any time from your account profile or by contacting us.

16. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use bots, scripts, automated tools or multiple accounts to search for, reserve or buy tickets, or to get around purchase limits or queues;
  • scrape, copy or collect content or data from the Service without our written permission;
  • interfere with, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or test them for vulnerabilities without permission;
  • use the Service for fraud, money laundering, touting or any unlawful purpose, or use payment methods you are not authorised to use;
  • impersonate any person, or give false or misleading information;
  • harass, threaten or abuse our staff, Organisers, entrance staff or other customers.

We may investigate suspected breaches, cancel affected orders and tickets, suspend or close accounts, and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.

17. Organisers and advertisers

  • Organisers who sell tickets through the Service do so under a separate agreement with us, which covers their event listings, pricing, commission, settlement of ticket revenue, refunds and use of the organiser dashboard and scanner app. These Terms continue to apply to Organisers' use of the website.
  • Organisers are responsible for the accuracy of their event information, for running their Events safely and lawfully, for holding any permits and licences required, and for honouring valid tickets.
  • Advertising banners on the Service are booked under separate arrangements. Advertisements are clearly marked as sponsored, and we are not responsible for the products, services or websites of advertisers.

The Service relies on third parties, including our Payment Partner, hosting providers and email providers, and may contain links to other websites. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control.

19. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and working correctly, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control. Where an order is affected by a technical error, we will work to put things right, which may include cancelling and refunding the order.

20. Intellectual property

  • The myshow.lk name and logo, the design of the Service, and its software and content (other than Event content) are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.
  • Event names, images, logos and descriptions belong to the Organisers, performers or their licensors and are used with their permission.
  • You may view and print content from the Service for your personal use only. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially use any content, or use our name or logo, without our prior written permission.

21. Privacy and data protection

We collect and use personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, in line with applicable data protection law. By using the Service you acknowledge that we will share the information needed to deliver your tickets with the Organiser of the Event and with our Payment Partner, as explained there. We do not sell your personal information.

22. Limitation of liability

  • The Organiser is solely responsible for the Event, including its content, quality, safety, timing and conduct, and for any injury, loss or damage suffered at or in connection with the Event, except where caused by our negligence.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, enjoyment, travel, accommodation or other expenses, arising from your use of the Service or attendance at an Event.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any Order is limited to the total amount you paid for that Order.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of Sri Lanka, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

23. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for any claims, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that we suffer as a result of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or your breach of any law or the rights of a third party.

24. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics, government action, civil unrest, strikes, power or internet failures, or failures of our Payment Partner or other third-party providers. Where an Event itself is affected, section 13 applies.

25. Suspension and termination

  • You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing your account does not cancel tickets you have already bought, and we will keep order records as required by law.
  • We may suspend or close your account, and cancel affected orders, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, or if required by law. Where we cancel tickets for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the amount you paid for them.

26. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. The updated Terms take effect when they are published on this page, and the "Last updated" date will change. The Terms in force at the time you place an Order apply to that Order. Continuing to use the Service after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.

27. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the policies referred to in them and any event-specific terms shown at checkout, form the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • Severability: if any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect.
  • No waiver: if we do not enforce a right under these Terms straight away, we may still enforce it later.
  • Assignment: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent.
  • Language: these Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails in case of any difference.

28. Complaints, governing law and disputes

  • If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected] with your order reference. We will acknowledge it and aim to resolve it as quickly as possible.
  • These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
  • The courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer protection authority.

29. Contact us

If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at [email protected] or +94 11 000 0000.
